Soul-Prime (2026) is a conceptual Chronicle Album to be released by Yotsuba-Choco in 2026.
Soul-Prime is a work where fragments of life, desire, sin, human nature, bestiality, biological impulse, war, the flame of love, the stillness of death, warmth, the primal urge to protect, and cataclysmic events — all spiraling and interweaving in a vortex.
The breath of jazz, the pulse of funk, the cry of rock, mental landscapes, the ache of J-POP, the blood-tide of Latin, the ancient echoes of folk, the deep wrinkles of blues — manifold musical textures overlap and dissolve into one another here.
At the core of this album lies Freud's concept of the "Id."
Vivid yet cruel, primordial and at times absurd — the "Id" is brought into relief through Taoist absurdity and the resounding brass.
It is a journey that gently, fiercely embraces the most primitive and denied parts of the inner self — together with the listener.
Through large-scale arrangements and a sound design that is at once grandiose and brilliantly absurd, the tracks carry deep, complex allegories that make the body move instinctively. Yet when each song ends, the melody quietly dissolves from memory — only to return, by the demands of the "Id," in an irresistible loop of repeated listening. Such is the album's uncanny nature.
Like a feverish festival, it sings aloud even the hidden sins and lurking evils. Yotsuba-Choco herself has called this "one of my favorite Chronicle Albums ever."
